Do you accomplish everything that you want and need to everyday?
Or do you sometimes feel that you've been busy but achieved little, or worked hard on everything else's priorities but your own? If you're working hard but getting nowhere, it may be time to slow down.
Most of us feel under pressure to accomplish all sorts of things: meet deadlines at work, manage hectic household, attend children's sporting or school events, keep up-to-date in our profession. How can anyone possibly do everything that needs to be done? People who try to do everything are in danger of rushing around like the proverbial chicken with its head cut off. They can end up spreading themselves too thin and doing things in such a rush and with only half their attention that they end up doing them poorly.
If this sounds like you, you would do well to reflect on these words of a famous poet: `Good and quickly seldom meet.'
Instead of trying to do everything, decide what will add the most value to your life and concentrate on those things. You may do less, but you'' accomplish the important things and achieve more". Consistancy is the key for any work to be done at a correct time and speed/time taken for the work will gradually gets optimised when practised.
